A Modified Multiparameter Linear Programming Method for Efficient Power System Reliability Assessment

Power systems face adequacy risks because of the high integration renewable energy. It is urgent to develop efficient methods for power system operational reliability assessment. Conventional assessment cannot achieve real-time risk computational complexity and long calculation time. The mainly caused by a large number optimal flow (OPF) calculations. To reduce complexity, this paper transfers model as multiparameter linear programming model. Then, can be obtained Furthermore, proposes state reduction method considering importance index transmission lines further improving efficiency. Case studies are carried out on IEEE standard provincial grid in China. Compared with conventional method, efficiency proposed increases 10–40 times, error less than 1%.
